Roger is a life long member of Biggsville United Methodist Church, is a life member of Masonic Lodge 123 in Oquawka, Illinois, is a member of the Biggsville Post 1176 American Legion in Biggsville, is a former member of Biggsville Lions Club, is a member of the Henderson County Olde TYME Farm Club, and has been involved with various civic organizations for a number of years locally. He later purchased a farm from his boyhood neighbor north of Biggsville, Illinois and has farm to the present. He then worked for Farm Bureau as Secretary of the Organization in Illinois and Iowa securing members. He later worked at the Stronghurst FS as a delivery driver for a number of years. As a boy Roger worked for the State of Illinois mowing roadways with a horse drawn mower. He married Betty Joanne Boyd on Februin Stronghurst, Illinois and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2013. Roger served his country in the United States Army. He then attended and graduated from Biggsville High School with the class of 1947. During his grade school years they moved to Biggsville, Illinois and he attended Cedar Lynn Country School. Roger was born on Novemin Danville, Iowa and is the son of William W. Kelly, age 92, of Biggsville, Illinois passed away in Stronghurst, Illinois on Saturday Maat 4:30 pm.
